Being Green

Acme is committed to improving our environment, not just through Sustainability measures, but in the way we do business.

We have had an effective, and active, Energy Committee for five years that meets regularly to concentrate on the more efficient use of energy. Some of the things accomplished have been the replacement of the in plant lighting system to more efficient systems, increased efficiency of the boilers, reduction in process water to name a few.

We currently have a cube utilization initiative that is reducing the number of trips our delivery vehicles make daily. We are affecting an annual improvement in excess of 5% per year every year since 2004. We constantly work with customers to reduce the fiber content of their packaging through the correct design of their cartons.

We have found new customers “overpack” because their packaging vendor has not worked with their shippers in utilization of the most effective unitization techniques. These successes have been driven by our Customer Advocacy program, which is unique in our industry.

Acme is proud of our industry’s recyclability, but we don’t stop there. We view our commitment to the future just makes sense,
and cents!
